This is a blog about music.
ooh, nice. you will make it!
I ... hate this song. Yes, hate.
Tyles, well... I guess you're entitled to your opinion. But I didn't find it grating. Sure, the vox could've been more convincing for the message, but I can't bring myself to hate it.The band's name has "goat" in the title, for God's sake.
Tyler's wrong! Even us curmudgeons shouldn't be able to deny such a chorus.
It's not even necessarily an anti-Mountain Goats thing.(OK, it is, but just a little bit. I just don't particularly like the guy, or his "deep" songwriting.)
Maybe you should go back and listen ... to the Weeds Soundtrack!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZTslh_e2iE
(I've been sitting here looking through youtube for his stuff for a while tonight, thanks Harrys.)
I feel compelled to clarify -- it's not that I think the Mountain Goats are objectively bad. The music just does not move me, at all, and this song in particular bothers me (as quite possibly the No. 1 requested song on the local indie station, especially come December). So, hate -- but without judgment.
"Hate without judgment" is clearly the most generous I've ever hoped to get from my posts. You are tough but fair, Whisk E. Bear.
