I'll be honest, Head Hunters kind of disappointed me. Jazz fusion....what may have sounded unique and progressive then now just kind of sounds like the Sesame Street version of jazz and funk and rock all thrown together and homogenized. I think it works better as a springboard to jazz proper than as a definitive genre. But hell, this album is considered seminal, so what do I know?
I don't completely disagree, I'm not a huge fan of jazz fusion on the whole, but for me Head Hunters is a highlight within fusion (along with some of Miles' stuff).
I never knew that this was a re-doing of an older Herbie Hancock song, pretty neat. Jazz fusion is lame overall but damn, those late 60s early 70s Miles Davis albums are awesome. Also, for any of those that Twitter and don't follow Shaq, you really need to start. Not only does he post great pictures like this but also his "tweets" are amazing, for instance.. "I wanna b a ufc fighter, raaaaaaaaaaaaaa dats my growl , lol"

Yep, that was definitely a song all right.

Shaq has always looked to me like a larger, blacker version of my uncle.
And I liked it, a lot. That is one bitchin' album cover.
This Steve fellow, I find I rather enjoy the cut of his jib, I do indeed.
Tell us... more... Steve.

So profound, yet so contemporary. The az/as discontinuity is a little troubling though.
ok, now ctollin... i assume is not craig... since craig is...craig. right?
the song was fine, but didnt really do much for me.
I don't know who half of you people are, honestly. I'm fairly certain that 'Craig' is, in fact, Charles Bronson.
What? He's dead? Holy shit.
