Self-important and insufferably sycophantic but still-useful music blog Pitchfork reported Monday that lo-fi indie rock pioneers Pavement staged a near-reunion at a wedding reception in Nashville over the weekend. I don't really get too charged up about these reunion stories -- as far as I'm concerned, you can wake me when they reanimate John Lennon and George Harrison (although I'd settle for Rick Danko and Richard Manuel). But this one did remind me that, hey, Pavement were awesome, and that we should listen to one of their songs. And what better place to start than track 1, side 1 of their debut LP?
