I see that Aaron DID, in fact, channel my spirit a couple weeks ago. Unfornately, for some reason, I guess my avatar was silent for a week.

Nonetheless, I wanted to share the fact that I experienced my first earthquake on Sunday.

An Eclectic Four-Day Farewell.

Something a little different... I'm getting on ship today, again. So can I trust you, Aaron, to take Tuesday's helm? Allow me this slight farewell, since I'm closing in on no time at all to prepare these.

Well, if it isn't the Forrest Gump of Caesar stories! This scene made me cry, even though it didn't have anything directly to do with Caesar until later in the series.

Nonetheless, this song, while completely unrelated, was covered in a comment I'm sure almost nobody read.

I'm not Irish, but I figured I'd share anyway, since I was only a day off. The following is the one video I had actually planned on posting this time, but a few links got lost along the way, and I'd just as soon go ahead and dedicate another one to my fine fiancee. Who is, in fact, of Irish descent.

Can't stop smiling. Can't wait. She'll be here tomorrow. I know I have a penchant for soundtracks, but this one's been in my head for weeks now. Makes me smile every time, too. See y'all in a week- I like commenting and stuff, but I likely won't be around to see anything til it's my turn again.



Forgive me if it appears I haven't made much of an effort lately, but also understand for awkward types like me, finding your future wife happens, truly, only once in a lifetime.

I wanted to post this before I hit the sack. I have a long day at my current training evolution right now, so I might not be around much. If I am, I'll edit this post accordingly.

For now, it's been 365 days since Tyles set this ball in motion. I posted how the rotation has changed over the course of one year... And here we are. Letting the special needs kid post the birthday song. Since I've been harping to all my less-than-stellar-intellectually fellow Marines about how much I enjoy watching The Ladykillers, I found this... most fitting for the occasion. Shine on, fellow music nuts. Let it shine on.

The Evolution of "Wild Thing"

Maybe I should have waited a couple months, considering the title... But that's irrelevant now.

That drew... Getting me on a Condo Fucks/Troggs trip. I ended up picking up a Troggs record last time I was out and about on payday. And this latest little indulgence into music history is the result.

So's, the original was written by Chip Taylor circa 1965 and recorded first by The Wild Ones in the same year.

We all know how well The Troggs did in '66, moving then to Monterey Pop where Jimi Hendrix added his obviously acid-fueled twist on the song before setting his guitar on fire.

Most notably for me, though, isn't the Major League rip by X.

It's this, the point to which the decade of the 80s allowed this song to fully degenerate.
