The Shangri-Las - Give Him A Great Big Kiss

My roommate and I have been playing this one all day. No hyperbole, this song is absolutely the highest point of American music, and is the very apex of twentieth century culture. No, seriously, it is the best thing. Listen you are standing the presence of greatness.

(Tell me more)
(Tell me more)

Somebody left a bottle of Amaretto over here and I found a cocktail on wikipedia. Not only have I solved America, I get things done.

Three Farmers on Their Way to a Dance, 1914 - August Sander via Richard Powers

Dang old Mussolini on the set of Animal House, 1980

David Byrne inventing the bomb, Los Alamos

These fine people agree, this song is the key moment in that bitter century with those great wars, genocidiares and general wholesale dupage of everybody all the time. The Shangri-Las, they're God's answer to Job: "Your know, I do a lot of terrible things, but I can also make one of these."
